Home Valley Station – El Questro – Home Valley Station

We decided to do a day trip to ElQ, and do the eponymous Gorge walk. At the start of the walk, we met the delightful Nadine, and we spent the day with her.  I only walked to the Halfway Pool, and spent the afternoon wandering back down the gorge with my camera. Duncan and Nadine completed the walk, and raved about it, as did Robert and I some weeks earlier.

Late in the afternoon, we drove up to Saddleback Lookout, and enjoyed a glass of wine with Nadine and the amazing views. The 4WD track to the lookout was extremely challenging – steep and heavily rutted with evil rocks – and more so after sunset.

After a high speed return to HVS in the dark, Duncan cooked us a delicious chillie and rice dinner.
