Alice Springs, Day 39/Trip 2019 (Wednesday, 5th June)

Ross River Resort – Alice Springs (80kms)

I returned to Alice Springs – again – to prepare for Rob’s arrival, and our trip NW up the Tanimi Road into Western Australia and beyond. I had the “bash plate” on my Prado replaced free of charge by the suppliers, ARB.

Then, the “Shopping NIghtmare” began and I started to buy what was on Rob’s shopping list.  His shopping list was as long as three arms, and frankly there was enough food to feed a small army.  I ordered a huge amount of meat at a butcher’s, and arranged to pick up the cryo-vacced meat the following morning.  I then shopped for vegetables at a specialist greengrocer, and filled three sizeable boxes. While shopping there, I asked the owner if he stocked “vietnamese mint”. He laughed indulgently; there is no demand for around here. [Interestingly, it was available at the local Woolworths Supermarket!]
