Australia 2019 – Blogpost 0

https://wikitravel.org/en/Uluru-Kata_Tjuta_National_Park

This is my first blogpost for the 2019 trip to Australia, and it repeats below, and in part, the information published earlier on the website.  So, why am I repeating this you may ask? Well, I realized that I was getting a lot of comments on my Facebook group (which I am deprecating; the CSists amongst you will get my drift), and I would like people to start commenting directly on blogposts posted this site and not on FB, if you would be so kind. Your comments are greatly appreciated, and add to everyone’s enjoyment of the trip.

So, repeating just a little information:

Soon, I head down under for another three month adventure, and my planned route is essentially a clockwise loop south from Darwin into the “red centre” and then northwest into Western Australia, and  returning to Darwin

The route comprises 4 main chunks:

  • Darwin – Kakadu – Tennant Creek – Binns Track – Alice Springs (with my old school mate, Bruce Croft)
  • Alice Springs – West MacDonnell Ranges – Kings Canyon – Uluru – Olgas – Alice Springs (with my brother, Peter, and his son, Jack)
  • Alice Springs – Tanami Road – Halls Gaps – Bungle Bungles (Purnululu) – El Questro (Gibb River Road) – Parry Creek Lagoon – Kununurra (with my brother, Robert)
  • Lake Argyle – Gibb River Road – Judbarra/Gregory National Park – Katherine – Litchfield N.P – Darwin (with my son, Duncan, hopefully)

Further information on the route – with a map – can be found on https://www.davidharper.photography/australia-trips/australia-2019-trip/, a page on this site.

Did you ever contact the WA professor about looking for meteorites? Have a safe trip.

Yes, I did Russell. Basically, he said .. thanks for your interest. They are *trying* to find ways to expand their list of volunteers.
