Day 81/Trip 2018 (Tuesday, 7th August)

Jabiru-Darwin (245km)

Left Jabiru and Kakadu and travelled onwards to Darwin, the final destination for this first leg of my planned trip around Australia.  Visited the “Window on the Wetlands” visitor centre, which had very interesting displays – mainly aimed at children – on various aspects of the wetlands.  Ended the trip on the beachfront in Darwin, watching the sunset, and enjoying fish and chips (barramundi, again) and a cold beer.

Counting days correctly, I figure I have been “on the road” for approximately 80 days and covered around 15600kms (9700 miles for the metrically challenged!).  And, yes, I know Phineus Fogg managed around the world in that time (fictiously, I might add).
