Day 75/trip 2018 (Wednesday, 1st August)

Kununurra – Timber Creek – Katherine (515 kms)

A big day through stunning countryside around the Victoria River with a lunch stop in Timber Creek.  Had to throw away citrus fruit as we crossed the WA-NT border, and were offered a bunch of fruit and veg by a couple at Timber Creek, who were travelling west. Quarantine controls in place to prevent spread of various pests. Stayed a night at the delightful “Shady Grove” caravan park in Katherine that was indeed shady with grassed campsites and excellent facilities (never thought I would value “shade” as a selling point of a campsite.  In fact, I recall on a previous trip to WA, laughing with Morna at a caravan site that advertised (only) grass and shade).
