Day 71/2018 (Saturday, 28th July)

Home Valley Station – El Questro Station (ELQ) (51kms)

Crossed the Pentecost River – something of an anticlimax – was expecting a deeper crossing, and onward to ELQ. Opted for unpowered site beside the Pentecost River, and what a delightful spot with views to tree-lined banks of this quietly flowing river. Tried my hand at fishing; no luck!

Evening drive up to Pigeonhole Lookout for sunset.

Dinner with exuberant entertainment provided by resident musician, and joined later by various talented staff who performed: guitar, twirling, singing, etc. A great night.

Red moon, duh! Taken at Home Valley Station, which was almost the ideal place for viewing the “lunar eclipse of the century”. Around 3-5AM

  • Robert Harper Showed to people who know photography. Definitely a candidate for amazing prints with some photoshopping with Cool Lava
  • Ann Gardner After weeks of sunshine and clear skies last night was thunder, lightning and heavy rain. As I couldn’t get above the storm I missed the red moon. Ah well, if I’m still around in 100 years I might see it next time !
