Day 7/Trip 2018 (25th May 2018)

Border Village-Eyre Bird Observatory (300kms)

Straightforward driving day with all the interest at either end.  Visited the Old Telegraph Station near Border Village, with its graffitti scarred walls, that was slowly being reclaimed by the sand.  Arcane sculptures along the path added interest. Decided to stay at the Eyre Bird Observatory, and enjoyed a fabulous drive through sandy and forested rolling hills.  Pete experienced his first sand driving, and did super well. Beautiful location near the ocean, and a great welcome by the volunteer hosts, Mick and Di. We walked to the beach before sundowners on the terrace, and dinner with wine.
