Day 68/Trip 2018 (Wednesday, 25th July)

Mt Elizabeth Station – Home Valley Station (275 kms)

Long drive, mostly at 90-100kph, albeit wrecked trailers and vans indicate you need to take care. We felt it was better to drive fast over the corrugations, and slow for floodways, other vehicles, and sharp bends, and avoid tyre-shredding rocks. Met up with a couple at the Drysdale Station/Kalumburu turnoff, and they kindly offered us lunch – egg salad in wraps. We continued to Ellenbrae Station, famed for scone(s), jam and cream, of which we partook. They always advertise “plural scones” but serve singular scone, jam and cream! Continued to Home Valley Station, where we camped as close to the swimming pool as possible, and dined on ribs and freshly caught barramundi.
